Love Your Data (LYD) Week - Day 1 of 5: DASH and Open Data - Introduction

According to the Love Your Data (LYD) Week organizers, data is open when it can be “freely used, reused, redistributed” (requiring attribution and share-alike term of use is acceptable for open data). At NCAR, data needs to be made openly available and publicly accessible per NSF’s data management policy as well as NCAR’s own Open Access requirements. Equally important, when NCAR openly shares our data, we are optimizing the impact of our research.

There are several services from the Digital Asset Services Hub (DASH) that can help NCAR researchers in enabling open data. During the rest of the LYD week, one specific DASH Service will be discussed per day. Please stay tuned for Day 2’s post on the DASH Consulting service!

If you have any questions, need additional information, or would like to talk more about data and data related topics, please also feel welcome to contact the Data Curation & Stewardship Coordinator.
