Open Enrollment Deadline is Today

Important:  Open Enrollment Deadline is Today, December 2nd.  Open Workday and find your Open Enrollment task in your Workday Inbox.  Please refer to the bulletin for instructions on how to access Workday to review and select your 2020 coverage.

Part-time rates: This year, UCAR is changing how it charges part-time employees for their health insurance. In line with leading best practices, all employees will now be charged a flat-rate health insurance premium regardless of their FTE level. This will result in a savings for part-time employees who will now be charged at the lower full-time rate for both medical and dental insurance. This change will also increase efficiency in our new Workday system.

Please note that calendar year 2020 contains 27 pay periods. The annual employee cost of insurance premiums as well as any Flexible Spending Account and/or Health Savings Account contributions will be divided by 27 pay periods instead of 26 pay periods.

Dependent coverage flexibility: Beginning in 2020, you will no longer need to cover the same dependents under every plan you enroll in. For example, if you wish to cover dependents on your medical coverage, but not on your dental coverage, you can do so. As a reminder, you can only cover dependents on plans that you’re enrolled in.

Updating your beneficiaries: Please access Workday to update your beneficiaries.
