Suspension of visas: Listening/information session on Tuesday

Dear Colleagues,

Last week, President Trump signed an executive order suspending the issuance of H-1B, H-2B, J, and L visas until December 31 at the earliest. We have heard from many staff who are concerned about the implications of this order on themselves or their colleagues, or on the applicant pool for open positions. We also understand this order may affect staff in less direct but still challenging ways, including parents who may have been planning to have an au pair travel to the United States to provide childcare.

To address these concerns and any others related to immigration or working and living in this country as a foreign national, UCAR Human Resources and the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion will be hosting a listening and information session, Tuesday, June 30, from 1 - 2:30pm. Please forward this information on to any visitors who you think might be interested in this session, since they do not receive all-staff communications.

Links to the slido board for asking questions in advance and to the Google Meet are below. If you have any questions about the session, please contact Carolyn Brinkworth (carolyn@ucar.edu). For questions about visas and immigration status, please contact Shonna Montoya (smontoya@ucar.edu)
