Remembering Jan Rosinski

Dr. Jan Rosinski, former employee and MMM long-term visitor, died last week shortly after his 95th birthday.  Dr. Rosinski started his scientific career at NCAR in 1962 and retired in 1993. Although blind by that time, he continued to publish papers and collaborate with colleagues for another 10 years.  His research focused primarily on the physics of severe storms, especially the formation of rain and hail. His strong interests in ice formation generated many creative ideas on ice nucleation in relation to cloud seeding.

A service will be held on Saturday, March 3 at 11:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 6739 South Boulder Road.  Read more about Dr. Rosinski’s life at
