Physical Meteorology

Information

Overview

Studies physical and thermodynamic processes in the atmosphere, focusing especially on cloud and precipitation physics. Researchers within the group use a combination of in-situ and remote sensing observations, numerical modeling, and laboratory experiments to study processes important for cloud formation and precipitation development. They collaborate with other groups in MMM and NCAR as well as throughout the broader community to improve our understanding of these processes and their parameterization in weather and climate models.
